We extend a warm and hearty welcome to Marion as the new IBCPC National Representative to Ireland.
Bio of Marion Egan
Marion was born and raised in Dublin, where she now lives and is married to Alan. They have 3 children, Sean, Heather and Aaron and life is very busy, but fun.
Marion was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2013 and joined Ireland’s first dragon boat club, Plurabelle Paddlers in 2016 where she found a love for exercise, sport and competition that she never knew she had. Following a metastatic diagnosis since 2017, her goal was to travel to the IBCPC festival in Florence in 2018, which she did with the Plurabelles. She was thrilled to be chosen to represent her club in the Sandy Smith Global Finale, an unforgettable experience.
Since then, Marion has continued to train with the Plurabelles and credits them with her regaining fitness and health. She believes in challenging yourself beyond your comfort zone and is now a qualified helm. Marion believes you should always have goals to work towards and her next big goal is to compete with her club in Ravenna in September 2023.
