We were thrilled to initiate and conduct Australia’s first-ever Breast Cancer Network Australia PLAY4BCNA Dragons Abreast Pink Sports Day fundraiser on Sat. Sep. 23, 2023. https://pinksportsday.bcna.org.au
Our sister clubs DA Gippsland, DA Geelong and DA Bendigo also joined us that weekend to raise funds to support the work of the fantastic BCNA, Australia’s leading breast cancer consumer organisation, working tirelessly to ensure that all Australians who are affected by breast cancer receive the very best care, treatment, and support.
At our regular Saturday morning practice session, we ran a Pink Cake Stall selling our home-baked goodies, before hitting the water wearing our BCNA fundraising merchandise to raise awareness of the wonderful work they do!

We were delighted when the BCNA shared all our pics on their socials to their national online network, promoting our Pink Sports Day fundraiser and also the benefits of dragon boating for breast cancer survivors – a win-win for all!
The combined effort of our four clubs raised over $1,300.00, a fantastic result.
We plan to conduct this fundraiser on the same weekend annually and we’re looking forward to other Dragons Abreast clubs across Australia joining us for our PLAY4BCNA Dragons Abreast Pink Sports Day fundraiser in 2024!
