New team on view from your flight to London!

Introducing the Hurricane Paragons DBC from Staines, London a couple of miles south of Heathrow airport.

We are a newish team that paddle at Silver Lakes under the flight path of Heathrow airport, our training often gets interrupted as we can’t hear our coach from the noise of the planes taking off from the airport. The lovely lake is owned by British Airways and we have the benefits of a lovely club house where we have club suppers on winter nights after training.

We are lucky enough to be able to paddle Saturday morning and Tuesday evenings in the winter and extra in the summer months.

At the moment we are a small group of breast cancer survivors so we paddle with the UK Hurricane team where we compete at race meeting with the British Dragonboat Association.

The Paragon ladies have also been paddling with The UK composite team, The Pink Royals, in Ireland and Barcelona and The Go Europe team in Rome.

We are looking to increase our membership so we can enter our own team in France 2026.

So if you are ever arriving in London via Heathrow look down and give us a wave or even better pop by for a paddle, cup of tea and cake.
