A composite team with members from Medb’s Dragon Warriors, Gráine Mhaol Dragons and Nore Dragon Paddlers were on their first adventure of 2024 at the Snow Dragon Festival in France recently. The event involves paddling a 12 crew DB on skis down a slope and across the flat to the finish line. A prestigious event with the President of the IDBF, Chinese Ambassador to France, Sylvain Munier of Dragon Boat Attitude and other dignitaries taking part in the opening ceremony.

The following day, the team, along with the Lagan Dragons, were invited by the Kayak Club d’Annecy and Droles de Rames to join them for a paddle on the beautiful lake Annecy. What an amazing beginning to 2024, the year of the Wood Dragon.

Donegal Dragons received a special recognition award at the Donegal Sports Star Awards in recognition of their work in promoting health and wellbeing for people with a breast cancer diagnosis, a well-deserved award for all the hard work of the club which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

Cork Dragons, having celebrated their tenth anniversary at their Rebel Regatta in September 2023, suffered the loss of their wonderful, colourful and fun member Maggs Daly. Gone but not forgotten.
